Sri Ramakrishna Vidyarthi Mandiram is a hostel for college boys which provides  boarding  for economically backward students. Long ago, when Swami Prabhuddhananji’s wardenship one Sri Yellappa had stayed in Vidyarthi Mandiram to pursue his studies in Bangalore. Later he completed MBBS, MD and thus became Dr. Yellappa. The  guidance he got there and the lives of the holy trio made great impact on his life. With a thought that this should also be bestowed upon his village (villagers) Neralakunte in Pavagada Taluk, he started Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Ashrama. He constructed a prayer hall, rooms for medical dispensary and sadhu nivas. Three years ago this was handed over to Ramakrishna Math, Bangalore. Birth anniversaries of the Holy Trio, medical dispensary on third Sunday of every month, spreading Swami Vivekananda’s message to students of nearby school, workshops by IHR for farmers are organised by the Ashrama. In addition satsanga (retreats) are also organised. Now, this centre is Rural Centre of Ramakrishna Math, Basavanagudi, Bangalore
